Why do we write?

As We Think Is. The first thing you would think on hearing something like this, is that these people think too much of themselves and are adamant that they know the best. The second thing that you might think is “hey wait, that’s an Incubus song and now I am intrigued'”. If you think the latter, please continue reading because we do have things to say. If your thought process is inclined to the former, continue reading anyway, cause we love an audience!!

All the permanent writers have a core category to write about. But each writer exercises freedom of expression and can choose to write about anything under the sun. Guest writers will write about things they dig or if they are attention seekers – things that are really popular right now.

This blog is about things that make life meaningful and how we feel about them. Life is not just about making a ton of money, being successful and affording that place outside the city which doubles up as a retirement home. It is about all the things that make it an experience to remember. Getting trippy on Steven Wilson’s voice at a PT concert, getting to the highest motorable road in the world on your bike, eating the best cheesecake, watching a movie that mirrors your life, reading a book that changes your life and so on.

You know it coz you wrote it
You just didn’t think you’d actually do it
It’s just another wish you wished
In a very long list
-Nada Surf (Concrete Bed)

The whole idea behind the blog is about taking a leap and more, towards our dreams. We all have an unfulfilled passion. But we go along our lives never doing it justice, and they end up in a list of the promises we make to ourselves about taking the things to the next level but never really doing it. ‘As We Think Is’ gives us a chance to talk about things that matter to us and lets us share our opinions about the things we care about. At some point in our lives, we all have complained about the good artistes/movies/art never getting the success or the attention they deserve. Through this blog we just hope to put the spotlight on things, we think, deserve the attention. Especially when we are paid money to write a glowing recommendation!

Gandhi said, ‘Be the change you want to see in the world’. We don’t intend to change the world with our words. Yet. But maybe, one reader among the many who might read this blog, will stumble upon a previously unknown band whose music will become divine for him or find about a new place with the best deals for heels (we try to rhyme as and when possible) or know about the best places in Hampi for taking photographs.

We write for that reader.
