Recipe: Mutton Kebabs

23 Nov

This week we have a simple Mutton Kebab recipe by Mrs. Munira Kaydawala (Sakina’s mother). It seems easy to make, so maybe all of us need to give it a shot. Just might not be as good as the original 😛

1/2 kg Mutton Kheema
2 tbs  Ginger and Garlic paste
2 tbs  Chopped Green Chillies
4 Onions paste (water completely soaked)
1 1/2 tbs Gram flour (Besan)
1 tsp Wheat flour
1 Big Coal
1 tbs Ghee
Coriander and Mint freshly chopped
Oil for frying

  1. Mix kheema, ginger, garlic, onion paste, chillies, coriander, mint, and salt in a large bowl until thoroughly combined.
  2. Leave the marinade overnight.
  3. Make a well in the center of the large bowl, place a smaller bowl in it. Heat the coal till its red hot, simultaneously warm ghee in a spoon.
  4. Quickly place the coal in the small bowl and pour the ghee, cover the large bowl with a lid and make sure no smoke escapes.
  5. After 10 minutes, pour the ghee in the marinade. Add gram and wheat flour.
  6. Fry till they become golden brown, serve hot with lemon, sliced onion and mint.
