Playlist for the rains

29 Aug

Well it turns out that the heavy downpour means that my boss hasn’t turned up in office today I have turned to songs to raise my spirits seeing as how the dull days get me down. Plus traveling in rains can be a bitch, you know it if you are in Bombay.

Well actually we could go to Marine Drive or Worli Seaface or hop onto an open-top bus ride or get together with friends and play some Fifa 11 on the PS3. But as all of us are working hard to make money, we only have music to keep us company. If like me, even you depend on music for mood changes, then check out the song list below. Keeping in sync with what I write, there are a few Indian bands here in this list too. Enjoy!

1. Shaa’ir and Func – My Roots

This is a song from their latest album ‘Mantis’ . I am not sure why but the intro reminds me a little of Ganpati Visarjan beats.

2. Red Hot Chili Peppers – The Adventures Rain Dance Maggie

Single from their latest album ‘I’m with You’. Included for obvious reasons 😛

3.  Blackstratblues – Bombay Rain

Blackstratblues is the solo project of Warren Mendonsa, one of the finest guitarists in India. This song was written by his brother Zorran and is from the album ‘Nights in Shining Karma’

4. Saathiya – O Humdum Suniyo re

My favourite Hindi film song. Composed by A.R Rahman and sung by KK, Shaan, Kunal Ganjawala, Pravin Mani and Rahman himself.

5. The Junkyard Groove – Folk You

This song has a nice little chorus to it. Plus it’s a really happy song. Like get up and laugh. In addition to the song,  putting up a video made by a firm about its office space. Good watch

6. Suman Sridhar – Hawa Hawai (Shaitan OST)

I have talked about this song before. So here it is again.

7. Colonial Cousins – Indian Rain

A very soothing track. Best heard with a hot cup of chai and watching the raindrops roll down the window. Okay I just made that up, but still a great track

Kunal Pawar has a good feeling about Chelsea this year and also about his life in general. He is planning on attending as many gigs as humanly and financially possible in addition to improving his football skills. That involves keeping the ball.

For entire albums, try As for songs, you just have to google it, I use beemp3 most of the times or even mp3raid at times

    You missed
    1)aye ganpat chal daru laa,

    Reminds everyone of someone sarcastic

    2)tip tip barsa paani,
brings back pleasant memories of the monsoon

and of course the evergreen monsoon song
Rain is falling chama cham cham
ladki ne aankh maari gir gaye hum

More research is needed, and apart from a worful ignorance of grammar, language, punctuations and spellings, it was a great article.

For someone, who talks about grammar, you got ‘woeful’ wrong. Just improve your English next time you are giving GMAT or commenting about someone else’s grammar 🙂
